Lindsay Lohan blames living in Dubai for not appearing in Thank U

Abu Dhabi,Jan 10:

Ariana Grande’s Thank U, Next video dropped in November. The video is a tribute to some of the finest noughties movies and featured cameos from plenty of celebrities, including iconic Mean Girlsand Legally Blonde stars, like Jonathan Bennett and Jennifer Coolidge

The Freaky Friday actress appeared on Jenny McCarthy’s SiriusXM show on Monday, January 9, and the radio host quizzed Lohan on her absence.

“They probably couldn’t get in touch with me, I guess,” Lohan said. “I don’t know. It’s not that easy to just fly in from Dubai.”

The video did, however, get the 32-year-old’s seal of approval, saying, “It’s great… I love the video.”

For Grande’s version, Lohan’s character, Cady Heron, was played by the singer’s former Victorious co-star Elizabeth Gillies.

It’s not the first time that Lindsay Lohan has spoken publicly about living in the emirate.

“I feel very comfortable in the UAE,” she told Dubai-based magazine Ahlan! last year. “I can be myself – not followed or judged. People have a different approach… and I really admire it. Everyone is very welcoming.”

She added that the best thing about living in the UAE is that there is “no paparazzi”.

Lohan has also spoken about buying one of Dubai’s World Islands, with plans to revamp it into “Lindsayland” with a new restaurant, luxury cabanas and water sports.
