IMD Issues Yellow Warning for Dense Fog, Cold Wave in Several Odisha Districts

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for multiple districts in Odisha, predicting dense fog and cold wave conditions over the next two days.

As per the IMD forecast, dense fog is likely in one or two places in Sundargarh and Koraput districts on December 12 and 13.

Cold wave conditions are expected in isolated pockets of Sundargarh, Angul, Jharsuguda, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi and Kandhamal on December 12. On December 13, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and Angul are likely to continue experiencing cold wave conditions.

“Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh and Koraput. Cold wave conditions are very likely to prevail in isolated pockets over the districts of Sundargarh, Angul, Jharsuguda, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi and Kandhamal,” the IMD stated in its December 12 prediction.

Authorities have advised residents to take precautions against cold weather. Motorists have been urged to drive cautiously during foggy hours and follow traffic safety norms.
