IIC Suspended For Forcibly Entering Srimandir amid Lockdown

Cuttack (Reporters Today Bureau): Odisha DGP Abhay today suspended Badachana IIC Dipak Kumar Jena for gross misconduct and dereliction of duty. The Cop had allegedly forcibly entered the Srimandir in Puri with his family amid lockdown restriction yesterday.

“A case has been registered against IIC Deepak at the Singhadwar police station and investigation is underway,” the DGP tweeted.

On Sunday, the havildar, whom the IIC had threatened when he tried to stop him at the south gate of the temple, had lodged a complaint at Singhadwar police station in this connection. On basis of this complaint, police had later detained the Badachana IIC and his family members.
