High alert at Odisha assembly after drunk driver rams barricade

Bhubaneswar: Security was tightened up outside the Odisha Assembly after a car rammed into a barricade late in the night, and the two car occupants were arrested afterwards.

A car reportedly driven by a drunk person breached a security barricade outside the Odisha Legislative Assembly in Bhubaneswar.

The incident took place in a highly secure zone of the capital city.

According to police, the speeding car broke the security cordon and hit the barricade put up at the entry of the Assembly.

The impact caused heavy damage to the barricade, due to which security personnel were alerted.

Local police personnel and STG (Special Tactical Group) reached the site immediately and cordoned off the entire area.
