Four Injured in Knife Attack on OSRTC Bus in Puri; Attacker Nabbed

Puri: In a shocking incident, four passengers were injured after a youth armed with a sharp weapon attacked them inside an OSRTC bus at Kanasa Bindhan Chowk in Puri district on Monday.

The assailant, identified as Bharat Bhoi of Sukala area, was overpowered and apprehended by police with the help of local residents.

Following the attack, the injured passengers were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Two victims were admitted to the Puri District Headquarters Hospital, while the other two received primary treatment at the Kanasa Primary Health Centre and later discharged. The attacker, who sustained injuries after being beaten by locals, is currently undergoing treatment at Puri Medical College and Hospital in critical condition.

A case has been registered at the Gadisha Gada Police Station, and police have launched an investigation to determine the motive behind the attack. Puri Superintendent of Police (SP) has assured that a detailed probe is underway and strict action will be taken against the accused.
