Diesel Crosses Rs 100 in Bhubaneswar as Fuel Prices Rise Again

Fuel prices in Bhubaneswar surged once again on Monday, with diesel crossing the ₹100-per-litre mark for the first time in the city after the latest revision in rates.
Diesel is now being sold at ₹100.81 per litre, while petrol prices climbed to ₹109.16 per litre.
The latest increase comes after diesel prices were raised by ₹2.71 per litre and petrol by ₹2.61 per litre.
Fourth Fuel Price Hike in Just 10 Days
This is the fourth fuel price hike recorded in the past 10 days, increasing concerns among commuters, transport operators, and businesses across Odisha.
Before the latest revision:
- Petrol was priced at ₹106.33 per litre
- Diesel cost ₹97.92 per litre
Meanwhile, speed petrol prices in Bhubaneswar also witnessed a sharp jump and are currently retailing at ₹118.27 per litre.

Odisha Government Pushes for Reduced Fuel Usage
Earlier, the Government of Odisha directed government offices to minimise petrol and diesel consumption and gradually shift towards electric vehicles (EVs) as part of fuel-saving measures.
With global uncertainty continuing, many consumers fear that fuel prices could rise further in the coming days, adding more pressure on household budgets.
