CRPF Jawan killed, one detained

Police  have detained one  person on Tuesday on  the  alleged charges of  killing a  CRPF Jawan  in Jajpur district  .

The deceased Jawan has been identified as Soumya Ranjan Parida(26) of Nalakula village under Dharmasala police station.

The injured Jawan was found lying in a critical condition  on the road near his house on Sunday  night for which the family members shifted him to the SCB medical college and hospital at Cuttack.

But he succumbed to his serious injuries on Monday night , said Umakanta Nayak the IIC of Dharmasala police station.

“We detained Saroj Parida (26) of Bhagabanpur  one of his friends in this case,” he said.

A large numbers of agitated people blocked the Barua- Balichandrapur road  at Nalakula by keeping the body on the road  demanding stern action against the killers.

Police rushed to  the spot and managed to pacify the angry protesters ,  added the police officer.
