Commercial LPG Price Rises by ₹62.50, ATF Gets ₹16 Per Litre Hike

The prices of commercial LPG cylinders and aviation turbine fuel (ATF) have gone up from October 1, according to state-owned oil marketing companies.
The price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has increased by ₹62.50, while ATF has become ₹16 per litre more expensive for domestic airlines. The monthly revision reflects changes in international energy prices and fluctuations in the rupee-dollar exchange rate.

Commercial LPG had witnessed a ₹9.50 increase in September, following steep reductions of ₹192 in August and ₹183.50 in July. Between February and June, the price had jumped by ₹1,373 per cylinder, rising from ₹1,740.50 to ₹3,113.50 amid disruptions in global energy supplies and elevated international prices.
ATF prices for domestic carriers have now climbed to ₹137 per litre from ₹121. This follows increases of ₹6.28 per litre in September and ₹5 per litre in August. Since aviation fuel can account for nearly 40% of an airline’s operating expenses, higher ATF prices could add to carriers’ fuel costs.
Fuel prices for LPG and ATF are generally revised on the first day of every month and may differ between states because of local taxes, including VAT.

Meanwhile, there is no change in the price of domestic LPG. A 14.2-kg household cylinder continues to cost ₹942. Domestic cooking gas prices had earlier risen by ₹89 between March and June amid supply disruptions associated with the West Asia crisis.
Petrol and diesel prices have also remained unchanged after their combined increase of around ₹7.50 per litre in May.
