Minor girl sexually abused, uncle arrested

Jaleswar: A minor girl was allegedly sexually abused by her relative uncle (Piusha, husband of victim’s father’s sister) in Balasore district of Odisha recently. Even, the victim girl became pregnant following the sexual assault.

After complaint, Police swung into action and arrested the accused Piusha today on charge of sexual abuse and impregnating her.

The accused Piusa was kept by the family members of the victim in the house and later handed over to Singla Police. Singla police in Bhanupur area of Balasore district reached the spot and arrested the accused.

The accused has been identified as Adwait Mandal.

As per reports, in Bhanupur, a 13-year-old minor girl was forcibly sexually assaulted several times by her relative Piusa Advaita Mandal on the pretext of driving away monkeys.

The accused Piusa threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the incident.

The incident came to light after the victim girl fell ill and was taken to hospital by her family members. During the medical check up in the hospital it was found that the minor girl was pregnant.
