Pattamundai self-immolation case: Ex-boyfriend of deceased girl arrested

Pattamundai: In the Pattamundai self-immolation case of Odisha, Police got big success today as the ex-boyfriend of the deceased girl has been arrested. Police arrested him from Chennai. He is being brought to Odisha.

The accused has been identified as Pramod Behera from Terohi village under Pattamundai Tahsil of Kendrapara district.

As per reports, the accused has been arrested on charges of blackmailing. Pattamundai police have arrested the accused from Chennai. Police are bringing him to Odisha.

It has been hoped that following interrogation of this accused, all the speculations regarding the case would be cleared.

It has been alleged that after breakup with the girl, this youth was allegedly blackmailing her by intimidating her to make her obscene photos viral.

Three days have passed since the unfortunate incident but the mystery of the student’s death is yet to be solved. The police are investigating the circumstantial evidences under which the death occurred.

It is to be noted that the deceased’s body body reached her native village yesterday under tight security after the postmortem. The last rites were performed in a mournful atmosphere as the village people burst into tears.

According to the complaint, the student set herself on fire when no one was at home. It is alleged that a young man who had broken up with the student was repeatedly blackmailing her by posting obscene photos of her to social media.

The student’s father claimed that the girl’s ex-boyfriend was blackmailing her and making obscene videos viral.
