Odisha: Woman hack To Death By Brother-In-Law

Cuttack (Reporters Today Bureau): In a shocking incident a woman was allegedly killed by her brother-in-law at Uparsahi in the Sikharpur area of Cuttack late last night.

After receiving the information the Chauliaganj Police rushed to the spot and arrested the man for interrogation.

According to the sources, an altercation erupted between the woman (victim) and her brother-in-law on Thursday night over an issue. Following which in a fit of rage the latter slit her throat killing her on the spot.

The deceased woman belonged to the Athagarh area and was living in Cuttack after marriage. Her husband had died a few years back due to jaundice.

Chauliaganj Police started an investigation. The police have taken the minor girl who is the sole eye witness in the incident for recording statements.

A forensic team has also been called upon for conducting a scientific investigation into the case.
