Bank Manager arrested for swindling Rs. 60 lakh from Collectors account
(Reporters Today, Bhubaneswar): Branch Manager of a Bank has been arrested on Saturday for allegedly frauding nearly Rs. 60 lakhs from the account of Angul Collector in 2017-18 through fraudulent means. The accused is a resident of Nageswar Tangi under Lingaraj police limits in Bhubaneswar. After committing the offence, he left the job and started working as an Associate Director at another Private Bank in Bhubaneswar, in November last year.
Reports said, while working as the Manager of HDFC Bank in Angul, the accused had fraudulently withdrawn of Rs. 59,41,481 from the account of Angul Collector through eight cheques by forging the signature of the bureaucrat. The District police have arrested the accused on a complaint lodged by Assistant Collector, Angul on 11th September.
