Chilika Book Fair to Debut in Balugaon from April 24

Bhubaneswar: Balugaon town in Khordha district is set to host the first-ever Chilika Book Fair from April 24 to April 28, 2026, marking a major cultural initiative in the region.
The five-day event will be held at Balugaon College, located on the banks of Chilika Lake. Preparations are in full swing, with a preparatory meeting recently conducted under the chairmanship of Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan at his residence.
Members of the Cuttack and Bhubaneswar Publishers’ Association attended the meeting and confirmed their participation. They also shared suggestions to ensure the smooth and successful आयोजन of the fair.
Around 80 stalls will be set up by reputed publishers from across Odisha, offering a wide range of books for visitors. Food stalls will also be arranged during the event.
The fair will be inaugurated on April 24 by Deputy Chief Minister Prabhat Tripathy along with Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan.
The Chilika Book Fair is expected to promote reading culture and provide a unique literary platform near Chilika Lake, attracting book lovers, students, and the general public.
