PCC chief expresses doubts over impartial conduct of polls in State

Surjit Kumar Dhal,Bhubaneswar, April 17: PCC president Niranjan Patnaik on Tuesday expressed doubts over free and fair poll in State saying that both the Centre and State governments were using government machinery to influence voters.

            He alleged that the machinery is also being used to harass the Congress party and the goons of both BJP and BJD were indulging anti-social activities to threaten the Congress party candidates.

            Patnaik also alleged that the police has remained silent in the rape and murder of a minor girl in Jatni area.

            He alleged that a ruling party leader in State was involved in the murder of a BJP leader in Khordha on Sunday night and few days ago another political leader was killed in Keonjhar.

            “The ruling BJD is utilizing government machinery in  Ganjam, Keonjhar, Koraput and Balasore areas,” he alleged.
