OCS Main Written Examination Begins Today; Special Transport for Flood-Hit Candidates

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Civil Services (OCS) Main Written Examination begins today as per the revised schedule announced by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC).

The Odia language paper will be held from 9 am to 12 noon, followed by the English paper from 2 pm to 5 pm. General Studies Papers I and II are scheduled for November 2, Papers III and IV for November 4, the Essay paper for November 5 and Optional Subject papers for November 7.

Meanwhile, floods in Ganjam and other parts of southern Odisha have created transportation difficulties for several candidates, particularly those from Asika and Sorada. Although some aspirants had demanded postponement, the government has decided to conduct the examination as scheduled.

Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari said around 325 candidates from Ganjam and nearly 100 from other flood-affected areas were facing travel difficulties. Concerned BDOs have been directed to facilitate their transportation to examination centres. Nodal officers have also been appointed for the Berhampur and Jeypore zones to provide assistance.

Candidates have been advised to carry their admit cards and valid identity proof and reach examination centres well before the scheduled time.
