Rashtriya Ekta Diwas: Sports Minister Suryabanshi Suraj Calls for Upholding National Unity
Bhubaneswar, Oct 31: The Sports and Youth Services Department celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas at Kalinga Stadium on Friday to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Sports and Youth Services Minister Suryabanshi Suraj attended the programme as Chief Guest and paid floral tributes to Patel, recalling his contribution to India’s unity and integrity.
Addressing the gathering, Suraj urged people to draw inspiration from Patel’s ideals and work collectively
towards strengthening national unity and the country’s development. He also called upon citizens to contribute towards the vision of Viksit Odisha 2036 and Viksit Bharat 2047 while promoting the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’.
The Minister administered the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge to participants. A Unity March was also organised, with sportspersons, students, volunteers and social workers taking part.
Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the department Bhupendra Singh Poonia, former MLA Priyadarshi Mishra, Golak Mohapatra, Jagannath Pradhan, Sudipta Ray and senior departmental officials were present.
