PM Modi Calls for National Unity to Achieve Viksit Bharat Goal by 2047

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for greater social unity, urging citizens to stand together against divisive forces and contribute to India’s ambition of becoming a developed nation by 2047. He made the remarks while inaugurating the Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav Global Sammelan at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital on Friday.
Addressing the gathering, Modi highlighted the importance of young people in shaping India’s future, stating that youth empowerment has remained a key focus of his government’s policies and programmes. He also reflected on his long association with public service, emphasising his commitment to working for the country’s progress.
The Prime Minister underlined the role of education in building a modern and self-reliant India. He said the National Education Policy was designed to meet the aspirations of a changing nation while preserving its cultural roots. The policy promotes education in regional languages, traditional Indian knowledge, scientific learning and emerging technologies.

Modi urged educational institutions, cultural organisations and other institutions to work collectively towards national progress and strengthening India’s global standing. He stressed that achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat requires collective participation, self-reliance and a united society that does not fall prey to divisive influences.
Highlighting the government’s efforts to safeguard India’s cultural legacy, the Prime Minister said more than 650 stolen ancient idols and antiquities had been brought back from foreign countries over the past 12 years. He also noted that India’s heritage sites are receiving increasing international attention, with several cultural landmarks gaining recognition on the global stage through UNESCO’s World Heritage framework.
The three-day Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav Global Sammelan has attracted more than 9,000 participants from India and overseas. The event marks the culmination of a year-long programme celebrating 75 years of the Chinmaya Mission, the spiritual and educational organisation established by Swami Chinmayananda in 1951.
The anniversary celebrations began last year with the release of a Tamil versification of the Bhagavad Gita by the Prime Minister. Over the years, the Chinmaya Mission has expanded its activities in spiritual learning, cultural conservation, youth development and community welfare, contributing to the spread of Indian philosophical and cultural traditions worldwide.
