Ravinder Govinda Gets Bail Two Days After Arrest in Student Assault Case, Welcomed with Garlands

Ravinder Govinda, a member of the Hindu Raksha Dal accused of assaulting students during a protest in Delhi, was granted bail just two days after his arrest. Following his release, members of the organisation welcomed him with garlands. A video of the welcome went viral on social media, triggering mixed reactions.
The incident took place on October 10 during a protest by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Tensions escalated near Jantar Mantar when protesters attempted to cross police barricades. A viral video allegedly showed Govinda and his associates assaulting students near DDU Marg.
After his arrest, Govinda claimed he acted in self-defence, alleging that protesters had surrounded his car. He admitted being involved in the altercation but maintained that the protesters initiated it. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi condemned the violence and alleged that the government was supporting those involved.
