India Warns Citizens Against Jobs on Malaysia Tourist Entry

The Indian High Commission in Kuala Lumpur has advised Indian nationals not to look for employment in Malaysia while travelling under the country’s 30-day visa-free entry facility.

The commission said there has been an increase in Indians arriving in Malaysia with the intention of finding jobs. Some are reportedly being misled by agents offering fake employment opportunities, leaving them vulnerable to overstaying, illegal immigration status, exploitation, detention and legal action.
The High Commission clarified that visa-free entry for Indian passport holders is meant only for tourism and social visits and does not permit employment.

It also urged travellers to carry genuine and verifiable documents, including a confirmed return ticket and hotel booking. Tourists must also submit the Malaysian Digital Arrival Card online three days before arrival and hold a passport valid for at least six months.
