NZP Promotes Citizen Science Through Tree Walk and Sunday Bird Walk

The National Zoological Park (NZP), New Delhi, organised the second edition of its ‘Tree Walk @ NZP’ along with the 11th Sunday Bird Walk, as part of its ongoing Citizen Science Initiative.
The programme aimed to increase public involvement in documenting and monitoring biodiversity while creating greater awareness about nature and wildlife conservation.

Around 25 participants took part in the walks, including nature enthusiasts, students, wildlife photographers, biodiversity researchers, interns, volunteers and other citizens interested in environmental conservation.
The Director of the National Zoological Park, along with zoo officials, interns, volunteers and resource experts, participated in the programme and guided attendees during the activities.

The initiative provides citizens with an opportunity to learn about the zoo’s flora and birdlife while contributing to greater awareness of biodiversity and conservation.
The next activities under the initiative—‘Sunday Reptile, Amphibians and Mollusc Walk’ and the ‘Sunday Bird Walk’—are scheduled to be held on 30 August.
