PM Modi Calls for Stronger Space Startup Ecosystem on National Space Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended greetings to the nation on National Space Day and highlighted the growing role of India’s space sector in shaping the country’s future.
PM Modi said India is steadily expanding its presence in the global space industry, with young Gen-Z engineers, scientists, designers and coders developing innovative technologies. He urged space startups to build a strong ecosystem and attract talent and investment from across the world.


The Prime Minister said India’s private space sector is gaining global recognition and has the potential to play a major role in achieving the vision of a developed India by 2047.
Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan also greeted the nation, praising India’s scientists, engineers and innovators for their contribution to space exploration and ambitious missions such as Gaganyaan.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh recalled the historic success of Chandrayaan-3, which landed near the Moon’s south polar region on August 23, 2023, describing it as a landmark achievement that strengthened India’s position among leading spacefaring nations.

At the National Space Day celebrations in Ahmedabad, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said space technology is crucial to the Viksit Bharat vision and could help India build a $45-billion space economy. He highlighted how space applications are increasingly benefiting farmers, fishermen and ordinary citizens.
