Odisha Govt Directs Statewide Participation in ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign from August 9

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has directed all district administrations and concerned departments to organise the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign across the state from August 9 to 15, 2026, aiming to ensure widespread public participation in the nationwide initiative.
The directives, issued by the Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture, are in accordance with the guidelines of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav programme.
The state government has urged citizens, government offices, educational institutions and various organisations to proudly hoist the National Flag at their homes, offices and campuses throughout the campaign. People have also been encouraged to light lamps or diyas in the evening as a tribute to the nation.
As part of the celebrations, public institutions and community gatherings have been advised to collectively sing the National Anthem and Vande Mataram. Citizens are also being encouraged to click a ‘Selfie with Tiranga’ and upload it to the official Har Ghar Tiranga portal to mark their participation.
Government buildings, public offices, vehicles and other prominent locations will prominently display the Tricolour while ensuring that the Flag Code is strictly followed.
To maximise outreach, District Collectors have been instructed to launch extensive awareness campaigns through print, electronic and social media in coordination with the Press Information Bureau (PIB) and other agencies. They have also been asked to submit compliance reports to the government after the campaign.
The week-long programme will feature a series of patriotic events across the state. Government and private establishments, schools, hospitals, railway stations and other public spaces will be decorated with the Tricolour. Exhibitions highlighting the significance of the National Flag and Vande Mataram, along with the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters, will be organised at various locations.
School students will be encouraged to participate in the national online quiz, while Tiranga-themed motorcycle and bike rallies will be conducted at district and panchayat levels. In addition, Tricolour exhibitions will be set up at busy public places such as shopping malls, railway stations and bus terminals. Tiranga-themed rangoli competitions and displays will also be organised to promote patriotic fervour among citizens.
