Singhadwara of Shree Gundicha Temple to Remain Closed From 6 PM Ahead of Bahuda Yatra

Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has announced that devotees will not be allowed to enter the Shree Gundicha Temple through the Singhadwara (Lion’s Gate) from 6 pm on Wednesday as preparations intensify for the upcoming Bahuda Yatra.

The temporary restriction has been imposed to facilitate the purification (Shodha) of the temple and the performance of several important rituals scheduled ahead of the return journey of the deities.

Temple authorities said the rituals require uninterrupted access to the temple premises, making it necessary to suspend public entry through the main gate during the scheduled period. Devotees have been urged to cooperate with the administration and plan their visit accordingly to avoid inconvenience.

The SJTA also acknowledged the support and coordination of the Sevayats, whose efforts are playing a crucial role in ensuring the smooth conduct of the religious ceremonies leading up to Bahuda Yatra.
