Koraput Former Executive Engineer Convicted in DA Case
Odisha Vigilance achieved another success on June 30, 2026, as Kalayanipuri Gandhi Chaudhury, former Executive Engineer of the Hydro Electric Project Investigation Division, Jayapur, Koraput, was convicted in a disproportionate assets (DA) case.
Chaudhury, who retired from service, was charge-sheeted under Section 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and Section 109 IPC. Vigilance investigators proved that he possessed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The Special Judge, Special Court, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar, sentenced him to three years’ rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹1,00,000.
Following the conviction, Vigilance announced it will move the competent authority to stop Chaudhury’s pension benefits.
