Cement-laden Hyva overturns in Kandhamal Ghat

Baliguda: One person was critically injured in a major road accident reported from Kurumuli Ghat under K. Nuagaon police limits in Kandhamal district on Friday when the cement-laden Hyva truck met with an accident and capsized on the ghat road.

The victim has been identified as Bancha Parija of Dandimahar village under Sarangada police station

As per reports, the truck was loaded with cement and it was on its way to K. Nuagaon from Phulbani when it reportedly skidded off the road and overturned while negotiating a sharp curve on Kurumuli Ghat.

On being informed, fire and rescue personnel from K. Nuagaon police and Sarangada fire services reached the spot and rescued the driver from the shattered truck cab after hours of struggle.

The driver has been rushed to K. Nuagaon community health center for medical attention.

Sources said the cement spillage from the hyva had created massive traffic jam and blockades in both the side and the normal traffic was being diverted and delayed and police were working hard to remove the accident Hyva from the Kandhamal Hyva accident spot.
