BJP Govt Marks Two Years in Odisha, CM Majhi Calls June 4 a ‘Historic and Glorious Day’

Bhubaneswar: As the BJP government completes two years in Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday described June 4 as a “revolutionary and glorious day” in the state’s political history.

The date marks the anniversary of the 2024 Assembly election results, which ended the BJD’s 24-year rule in Odisha and paved the way for the Bharatiya Janata Party to form its first government in the state. The results were declared on June 4, 2024, while Majhi took oath as Chief Minister on June 12, 2024.

In a public message to citizens, the Chief Minister said the “historic and clear mandate” had not only brought a “powerful government” to power but also ended “long-standing stagnation,” laying the foundation for what he termed a transparent, prosperous, and progressive Odisha.

Highlighting the Centre–State partnership, Majhi said the “double-engine government,” inspired by the leadership and governance model of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has ushered in a new phase of development in Odisha over the past two years.

He added that the state government has been functioning with a focus on administrative transparency, accountability, and public welfare, with efforts directed towards the all-round development of all sections of society.

Expressing gratitude to the people, the Chief Minister said their “unwavering faith and trust” had strengthened the government’s resolve to work towards making Odisha a leading state in the country.

Calling for collective participation in what he described as the “great yajna” of development, Majhi urged citizens to join the vision of building a “prosperous Odisha” in alignment with the goal of a “developed India.”
