Truck Drags Car for 500 Metres in Bhubaneswar, Uncle-Niece Escape With Minor Injuries

Bhubaneswar: A shocking case of rash and negligent driving was reported in Bhubaneswar after a speeding truck allegedly rammed into a car and dragged it for nearly 500 metres, leaving onlookers horrified. Fortunately, the two occupants of the car — an uncle and his niece — escaped with minor injuries.

The incident took place near Satya Vihar Square when the truck collided with the car and continued to push and drag it along the road towards Pahal. According to eyewitnesses, the truck driver failed to stop even after the collision and continued driving despite repeated warnings and shouts from people gathered at the spot.

The car was dragged for a considerable distance before it eventually got lodged on a bridge, bringing the terrifying ordeal to an end. Taking advantage of the situation, the truck driver fled the scene immediately after the incident.

Upon receiving information, Mancheswar Police rushed to the spot and launched a search operation. The truck was later tracked down and intercepted by the police, and the driver was detained for questioning.

Police have initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the accident. Authorities are also examining whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol or any other intoxicating substance at the time of the incident.
