Heatwave Grips Odisha; Jharsuguda and Titilagarh Record Highest Temperatures

Bhubaneswar: Severe heatwave conditions continued to sweep across Odisha on Thursday, with Jharsuguda and Titilagarh once again emerging as the hottest places in the state.
Jharsuguda recorded the highest temperature at 44.1°C, closely followed by Titilagarh at 44.0°C. The state capital, Bhubaneswar, also experienced intense heat, registering 43.5°C.

Several other regions reported soaring temperatures, with Nuapada at 43.0°C and Sundargarh at 42.8°C. Hirakud and Rourkela both recorded 42.6°C, while Sonepur logged 42.3°C. Bhawanipatna and Boudh each reported 42.0°C.
Anugul recorded 41.7°C, followed by Bargarh at 41.2°C and Malkangiri at 41.0°C. Phulbani registered 40.6°C, while Paralakhemundi recorded 40.1°C.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that heatwave conditions are likely to persist in several districts over the coming days. Authorities have advised residents to avoid venturing outdoors during peak afternoon hours and to take necessary precautions to stay hydrated and safe.
