Drone Operations Banned in Jharsuguda Ahead of President Murmu’s Visit

Jharsuguda: The Jharsuguda district administration has imposed a complete ban on drone operations across the district on April 21, 2026, in view of the proposed visit of President of India Droupadi Murmu.

According to an official order issued by the District Magistrate and Collector, the entire district has been declared a “No Drone Zone/No Flying Zone” for the day. The restriction will remain in force throughout the duration of the President’s visit as part of heightened security measures.

“In view of the proposed visit of Hon’ble President of India to Jharsuguda on 21.04.2026, flying of drones is strictly prohibited over the jurisdiction of Jharsuguda district. During this period, the district has been declared a ‘No Drone Zone/No Flying Zone’,” the order stated.

The administration said the decision has been taken to ensure safety and the smooth conduct of the high-profile visit.

President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit Odisha on April 21. During her day-long tour, she will inaugurate several key projects in Rourkela, including a Planetarium and Science Centre, the Nirmal Munda Parivesh Path, a Tribal Museum, and an Integrated Command and Control Centre at separate public events.

Officials have cautioned that any violation of the directive will invite strict legal action under applicable security and aviation regulations.
