Odisha Govt Extends Tenure of Consumer Commission Members to Avert Stalemate

The Odisha government extended the tenure of three members of the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission to prevent disruption in its functioning.

Dr Pramode Kumar Prusty, Miss Sudhiralaxmi Pattnaik, and Sri Hemanta Kumar Mohanty will continue serving until the ongoing recruitment process concludes.

The Commission currently handles more than 4,000 pending cases. The extension secures operational stability at a time when Acting President Dillip Kumar Mohapatra’s term ends on March 15. Without this move, the Commission risked a stalemate that could have delayed justice for thousands of consumers.
