BCCI announces India squad for New Zealand ODI series

New Delhi: BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) announced India’s squad for the upcoming three-game ODI series against New Zealand be held from January 11, with Shubhman Gill leading the squad, and Shreyash Iyer will play the role of vice-captain at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara.
The matches will be held in three different locations, the first match will be played in Vadodara on January 11, the second in Rajkot on January 14, and finally the series will end with third ODI in Indore on January 18.
Shubhman Gill has returned as captain after missing the previous ODI series against South Africa.
The two senior cricketers, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, are also included in the 3 days ODI series against NZ
Rishabh Pant who was expected to be dropped from the match due to some disappointment with his approach to white-ball cricket but will be featured in the three-day ODI series as he was somehow able to convince the selectors with his amazing performance in the Test cricket.
Nitish Kumar Reddy also somehow managed to make space for himself in the squad in the place of Hardik Pandya as he has not yet received clearance from the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence to bowl a full 10-over spell in an ODI.
Kuldeep Yadav will continue to be India’s ODI MVP and will be given assistance by Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar.
Mohammed Shiraj makes his comeback in the squad, but Mohammed Shami did not find a place in the 15-man squad despite his recent return to form in domestic cricket.
