Odisha Assembly Monsoon Session to Begin on September 18

Bhubaneswar: The monsoon session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly will begin on September 18 and continue till September 25, according to a notification issued by the Speaker’s office. The session will have seven working days.

Opposition parties, including the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and the Congress, are preparing to corner the government on issues such as women’s safety, law and order, student-related deaths, the Gopalpur gangrape case, the Mahanadi water dispute, the OTET question paper leak, and flood compensation.
The state government, meanwhile, is expected to introduce several important bills during the session. With both ruling and opposition parties determined to push their agendas, the session is likely to witness heated debates on key issues.
