9 minor girls rescued while being transported to work as migrant labour in Nabarangapur

Nabarangapur: In a major crackdown on illegal transportation of migrant labourers, the Nabarangpur Police has rescued nine minor girls who were being illegally transported to work as migrant workers out of Odisha.
The minor girls were reportedly waiting for the middleman’s vehicle carrying the near Saraguda chhak in Dabungaon block in Nabarangapur. The district labour president Sanatana Sahu suspected something fishy and informed the police and the collector’s office about them.
On receiving information about them, the Dabungaon police reached the place and rescued all the minor girls. The minors are currently being detained at the police station for the time being.
The police is investigating the minor’s identity, whereabouts, and is collecting information from them about the their work place. Further investigation is being carried on basis of the minor’s statement.
Meanwhile, the middleman has fled from the scene before the arrival of police.
