Young Couple Found Hanging From Banyan Tree in Odisha’s Subarnapur

Sonepur: In a shocking incident, the bodies of a young man and woman were found hanging from a banyan tree at Gulunda village under Binka police limits in Odisha’s Subarnapur district on Thursday.

According to reports, the deceased are suspected to have been in a relationship. Their identities, however, had not been established at the time of filing this report.

The bodies were found hanging from the tree using a red-coloured towel as nooses. A bag and a pair of slippers believed to belong to the deceased were also recovered from the spot.

Locals first spotted the bodies and immediately informed the police. On receiving information, a police team from Binka police station reached the village, recovered the bodies and initiated an investigation.

Police are examining the bag and other articles seized from the spot to gather clues regarding the identity of the deceased and the circumstances leading to the incident.

Further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause behind the suspected suicide.
