Woman, Son Electrocuted While Dousing Fire in Jajpur

Jajpur: A woman and her son allegedly died due to electrocution at Nalipur village under Balichandrapur police limits in Jajpur district late on Sunday night.

According to reports, the incident occurred after a neighbour’s house caught fire, leading to a service wire snapping and remaining live in the area.

The victims had reportedly rushed to help douse the flames when they accidentally came in contact with the live wire.

A neighbour said both suffered a severe electric shock during the rescue attempt. They were later declared dead.

Police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
