Two Killed, Three Injured as Pickup Van Overturns in Sundargarh

Rourkela: In a tragic accident, two labourers were killed and three others, including the driver, sustained critical injuries after a pickup van loaded with tiles overturned on National Highway 143 near Biratola roadside rest house under Chandiposh police station limits in Sundargarh district on Saturday.

Reports said the vehicle was travelling from Rourkela to Bonai when the driver lost control, causing it to overturn. The two deceased labourers were sitting atop the tile load at the time of the mishap.

The injured were rushed to Lahunipara Community Health Centre (CHC) with the help of a National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) ambulance.

Police have seized the vehicle and launched an investigation into the cause of the accident. The incident has sparked concern among locals, who have urged stricter enforcement of road safety measures along the busy highway.
