Gas Cylinder Explosion Triggers Major Fire in Balasore, Three Injured

Bhubaneswar: Three members of a family were injured after an LPG gas cylinder exploded, sparking a massive fire at Saradang village under Khaira block in Odisha’s Balasore district on Saturday.
According to reports, the incident took place while the wife of Manoranjan Panda was cooking in the kitchen. The gas cylinder suddenly burst, leading to a rapid spread of flames that engulfed the house and its contents within minutes.

The injured have been identified as Chandra Shekhar Panda, Manoranjan Panda, and his son Bismit Shekhar Panda. Bismit is currently undergoing treatment at Simulia hospital, while Manoranjan has been admitted to Khaira hospital. The condition of the injured is yet to be officially confirmed.
The fire caused extensive damage to property, destroying household items along with a motorcycle and a bicycle. The total loss is estimated to be worth lakhs of rupees.
On receiving information, fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and battled the blaze for over an hour before bringing it under control.
Police have initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the explosion.
