Two Killed, One Critically Injured in Head-On Motorcycle Collision in Koraput

Koraput: Two persons lost their lives and another suffered serious injuries after two motorcycles collided head-on near Doliamba Bridge under the limits of Koraput Sadar Police Station on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as residents of Pali Machhara village in Dashmantapur block. They succumbed to their injuries on the spot following the impact of the crash.

According to preliminary information, the accident occurred when the two motorcycles travelling from opposite directions collided near the bridge. The force of the collision left both riders dead instantly.

Another youth from Mahadeiput village under Koraput Sadar sustained grievous injuries in the mishap. He was immediately shifted to the Koraput District Headquarters Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

After being alerted, a team from Koraput Sadar Police reached the accident site, recovered the bodies, and initiated an investigation into the circumstances leading to the collision.

The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination, while police are continuing their probe to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
