TDP MLA murder case mastermind Maoist leader nabbed

Koraput, Feb 8: The alleged mastermind of the sensational murder case of a member of ruling Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh has been arrested by Paduwa police of Koraput.

                The MLA was murdered on September 23 last year in perhaps the first major attack on people’s representatives.K. Sarveswara Rao, 45, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA from Araku reserved constituency and one of his party colleague and former MLA Siveri Soma, 52, were gunned down by Maoists near Thutangi village, about 125 km from the coastal city of Visakhapatnam while returning from a programme at a village in Araku, a tribal area.

According to police sources, Koraput Police arrested Nandapur area committee Maoist cadre Damburu Khila early today.

He will be handed over the NIA team after interrogation, the sources said.
