Series bomb blasts in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the festivities, series bomb blasts were seen in Bhubaneswar. Bombs were hurled in the Phalikia slum near Goutamnagar under Capital Police station limits in Bhubaneswar last night.
According to information, some unidentified miscreants gave an open challenge to the police by hurling a series of bombs around 12 pm. Six of them came in two bikes with three people riding on two bikes each and then hurled eight bombs one after the other and then fled from the scene without getting caught.
Hearing the sounds from the blasts the locals woke up. Meanwhile, the miscreants had managed to escape from the scene.
No casualties has been reported but the loud sound has terrorised the locals. Police was informed and reached the spot at the earliest.
The Police checked the CCTV footages and tried to identify the miscreants based on which they will catch them.
It is suspected that the explosives were blasted due to a previous enmity. Investigation is underway.
Some of the locals who claimed to have witnessed the incident said, “Six miscreants came in two bikes. They first planted five bombs in Gautamnagar Basti. Then they planted three bombs in Phalikiya Basti.”
The locals were terrified by the massive explosion caused by the heavy bombardment. They immediately informed the police control room. But by the time the PCRs of the two police stations reached, the miscreants had fled.”
