Sanitary Napkin Vending Machines & Sanitary Napkin Disposal Machines installed in selected toilets

Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Pravati Parida today inaugurated the newly installed Sanitary Napkin Vending Machines and Sanitary Napkin Disposal Machines at Loka Seva Bhawan. These machines aim to significantly enhance hygiene for women in the premises, marking a progressive step towards creating a more inclusive and supportive workplace.

During the event, Deputy Chief Minister interacted with the female employees of Loka Seva Bhawan, actively listening to their concerns and grievances. She assured them of the Government’s commitment to providing necessary facilities that foster a healthy, safe, and supportive work environment, addressing both their physical and mental well-being.

She was accompanied by Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Smt. Anu Garg, IAS, Principal Secretary to Government, Housing & Urban Development Department Smt. Usha Padhee, IAS, and Principal Secretary to Government, Women & Child Development Department Smt. Shubha Sharma, IAS.

Further, Deputy Chief Minister, accompanied by DC-cum-ACS and other senior officials, also made a surprise visit to the Creche located within the Loka Seva Bhawan premises. She interacted with the service providers and the children, taking note of the infrastructure and operations. During the interaction, the need for a larger space to accommodate more children was highlighted. A proposal regarding the same will be finalized soon.

The machines have been installed in strategic locations for maximum accessibility, including the ladies’ toilet complex adjacent to the Central Lift Lobby on the 2nd Floor and the Ladies’ Common Room, ensuring convenience for employees and citizens visiting the premises for grievance redressal. Plans are underway to extend these facilities to all ladies’ washrooms in the building shortly, further enhancing accessibility and promoting a hygienic and inclusive environment for women.
