Rape Accused Found Dead Inside Police Station in Nabarangapur, Suicide Suspected

Nabarangapur: A man arrested in connection with a rape case was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside Dabugaon police station in Odisha’s Nabarangapur district on Wednesday, with police suspecting it to be a case of suicide.

The deceased has been identified as Purna Kalar, a resident of Medena panchayat under Dabugaon police limits. According to reports, he was arrested two days ago in connection with a rape case and had undergone a medical examination on Tuesday. He was scheduled to be produced in court on Wednesday.

However, in a shocking turn of events, the accused was allegedly found hanging inside the police station, reportedly using his own bedsheet.

The incident has sparked widespread concern and outrage in the local area. Questions are being raised over how such an incident could occur despite the continuous presence of police personnel within the station premises.
