Orange Alert issued for 9 Odisha districts for heavy to very heavy rainfall
Bhubaneswar: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected due to the impact of a low-pressure system. A Red Alert has been issued for several districts.
A low-pressure area has formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal-Odisha coast. It is likely to intensify further within the next two days.
Due to its impact, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in the state till the 31st July. A Red Alert has been issued today for 6 districts due to the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall.
The Regional Meteorological Centre has issued a Red Alert for Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, and Cuttack due to the possibility of very heavy rain.
An Orange Alert has also been issued for 9 districts for heavy to very heavy rainfall, and a Yellow Alert has been issued for 9 districts for heavy rainfall.
Similarly, a Red Alert has been issued for Keonjhar for tomorrow due to the possibility of very heavy rain. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea till the 27th July.
