One stop centre Sakhi yet to function despite inauguration

Surjit Kumar Dhal, Dhenkanal, Sept 4: The delay in the functioning of the One Stop Centre Sakhi of the Women and Child Development Department has irked the women as it continues to remain in limbo despite inauguration  in the new building  of District Headquarters Hospital some time ago. The Centre sponsored by Government of India on Nirbhaya Funds and supported by State Government was inaugurated on the sixth floor of  DHH by Collector Bhumesh Chandra Behera  on August 22.

A development organization was assigned to run the centre. However, the District Administration is yet to provide necessary support and provide facilities to the organization to function. The District Social Welfare Officer declined to comment.
