Once Ashok and Now Bobby

Bhubaneswar (Surjit Kumar Dhal): The title Das is known to all in Jajpur district as well as in the State.

Once veteran politician and former MLA, Ashok Das was an aide and very close to the Tall man Biju Babu and now his son Pranab Prakash Das (Bobby) is said to be the right hand of our lovable Chief Minister and BJD boss Sri Naveen Patnaik.

Recently Naveen announced Bobby’s name as the Organizational Secretary of the Biju Janata Dal on the occasion of Biju Babu’s birth anniversary. According to the public of Jajpur, the son is the carbon copy of his father. Ashok dedicated his life for selfless public service and now Bobby as well.

Ashok Das is an Indian politician. He joined the Jay Prakash Movement in 1974 and was Political prisoner under MISA. He was member of Swatantra Party, Utkal Congress, Janata Party (Secular), Janata Dal and Biju Janata Dal. He was elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly from Korei in 1974, 1977, 1990, 1995 and 2000. He was Leader of Opposition in Odisha Legislative Assembly from 1996 to 1997 post death of Biju Babu.

According to the public views, the attitude of Pranab on selfless public service and organizational skills are in his blood which were hereditary. Hard work made Ashok success in political career as well as took him close to the supreme power and now Bobby following his father’s foot step.
