Odisha Tops IndiaSkills 2025–26 with Highest Medal Tally

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has emerged as the top-performing state at the IndiaSkills 2025–26 national competition, securing the highest medal tally in the country and showcasing its excellence in skill development.

Participants from the state delivered an outstanding performance, winning a total of 57 medals. Out of 90 competitors representing Odisha, 15 clinched gold medals, 12 secured silver, and 14 earned bronze, while 16 participants received Medallions for Excellence.

Congratulating the winners, Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sampad Chandra Swain praised the achievement, highlighting Odisha’s strong training infrastructure, culture of skill excellence, and robust institutional support.

He expressed confidence that the state’s skilled youth would continue to shine on international platforms in the coming years.

Commissioner-cum-Secretary Bhupendra Singh Poonia and World Skill Center CEO Rashmi Ranjan Mohapatra also lauded the participants for their dedication, discipline, and technical expertise, and extended their best wishes for upcoming global competitions.

The medal winners were given a warm welcome upon their arrival at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar, where officials acknowledged the strength and effectiveness of Odisha’s skilling ecosystem.

The competition, organised by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), saw participation from over 650 competitors from across India. It was held at multiple venues, including Greater Noida and centres across Odisha and other states, covering sectors such as construction, manufacturing, ICT, creative arts, and services.

The top performers from the championship will now represent India at the prestigious WorldSkills Competition, carrying the nation’s pride onto the global stage.
