Man, Father-in-Law Die After Falling From Moving Train in Odisha’s Rayagada

Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, a man and his father-in-law lost their lives after reportedly falling from a moving train in Odisha’s Rayagada district on Friday.

The deceased have been identified as Sudam Nayak and his 80-year-old father-in-law, Lingaraj Sahu, residents of the Kesinga area in Kalahandi district.

According to reports, the duo was returning home aboard the Korba–Visakhapatnam Express after visiting Visakhapatnam in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, where Nayak had taken Sahu for cancer treatment.

The incident is believed to have occurred during their return journey. Nayak’s body was recovered from the railway track near Rayagada station, while Sahu’s body was found near Dahikhal station under Muniguda block.

Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel reached the spot, seized the bodies, and sent them for postmortem examination. A probe has been initiated to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.

Preliminary suspicion suggests that the two may have fallen from the train while travelling in the general compartment.
