Kareena Kapoor Says She Encourages Her Sons to Cry and Express Their Emotions

Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor has opened up about how she is raising her two sons, Taimur and Jeh, with an emphasis on kindness and emotional openness. Speaking at the trailer launch of her upcoming film Daayra, Kareena said she wants her children to grow up understanding that expressing emotions is completely natural.
Kareena, who shares Taimur and Jeh with actor Saif Ali Khan, said that as a mother, she hopes her sons become kind and responsible individuals. She stressed that boys should not feel pressured to hide their emotions simply because they are boys.

Addressing the idea that girls are naturally more sensitive, Kareena said she believes this stereotype is changing. According to her, many boys and men today are becoming more comfortable showing vulnerability, including crying in front of their mothers or female friends.

The actor revealed that she tells her sons that if they feel like crying, they should let themselves cry. She believes experiencing and expressing emotions will help them understand their feelings better.
Taimur, Kareena and Saif’s elder son, has been in the public spotlight since his birth in December 2016 and has become one of Bollywood’s most recognised celebrity children.
