Five-Year-Old Tigress Found Dead In Similipal National Park

Baripada: A five-year-old tigress was found dead inside the Similipal National Park in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district, with forest officials suspecting snakebite or infection as possible causes.

The tigress is believed to have died on Friday. Following the discovery, forest officials reached the spot and initiated necessary procedures to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the animal’s death.

Officials said the exact cause cannot be confirmed at this stage. Possibilities including snakebite and infection are being examined.

The definitive cause of death will be established after the post-mortem examination, the officials said. The findings of the examination are awaited.
