Driver missing after jumping into Mahanadi river at Mundali Barrage

Dhenkanal: A youth is suspected to have jumped to his death from the Mundali Barrage over the Mahanadi river in Odisha and is now missing.

The 20-year-old youth’s motorcycle was found abandoned near the barrage, leading to the suspicion and subsequent search.

The missing youth, Tukuna Mohanty of Dhenkanal district, worked as a driver.

As per reports, he reached the barrage on his Bullet motorcycle on Friday night and then reportedly jumped into the river.

The cause behind his alleged jump is still unknown and police are investigating the matter.

The Fire services Department began search operation in Mahanadi River from this morning and the rescue operation was on when this report was filed.
